

On Friday, April 17, 2026, the American Foundation for The University of the West Indies (AFUWI) will host its Twenty-Ninth Annual Awards Gala, an evening dedicated to honoring excellence, leadership, and transformative impact across industries and communities.
Held at the elegant 583 Park Avenue in New York City, this year’s gala is themed “The Legacy Continues”—a powerful reminder of the enduring influence of Caribbean excellence on the global stage.
The night promises to be a memorable black-tie affair, beginning with a 6:00 PM reception, followed by dinner and program at 6:30 PM, and culminating in sweet treats and dancing. More than just a celebration, the gala serves as a meaningful gathering of leaders, visionaries, and supporters committed to advancing education and opportunity through The University of the West Indies.
